NH35 vs NH36: the differences to check for a mod

Compare TMI's date and day-date movements without assuming that matching dimensions guarantee a swap.

Start with the calendar display: TMI describes the NH35 with date and the NH36 with day-date. A dial intended to show both day and date has a different display requirement from a date-only dial.

Check the display, then the assembly

A matching movement envelope does not confirm that the dial window will align. Check the dial drawing, calendar-wheel arrangement, crown position and the exact movement variant. Ask the dial and case supplier to confirm their intended combination in writing before ordering.

Separate the interfaces

For a dial, investigate feet, support, centre opening and calendar window. For hands, compare mounting sizes, post heights and clearance. For a case, check its supplied holder and stem alignment. For a crown, confirm the stem reference and the case's sealing arrangement. Avoid treating a listing's broad “NH series” description as an engineering drawing.

Choose around the intended watch

If you want a date-only display, begin with a documented date-only combination. If you want day-date, choose the dial and calendar arrangement as a set. Do not select a movement solely because the headline diameter matches your existing one.

Use the comparison checker for dimension differences and the parts checklist to record outstanding questions. The useful result is a list of confirmed interfaces, not a blanket promise that parts will fit.
